I have worked in accounting and finance since 2003, specializing in tax since 2011. In addition to several years in income tax return preparation, I have experience in senior management, accounting department leadership, strategic business planning, and process improvement.   

I am an enrolled agent (EA), which is a federally authorized tax practitioner licensed directly through the U.S. Department of the Treasury to represent taxpayers before all administrative levels of the Internal Revenue Service for audits, collections, and appeals. Only enrolled agents, attorneys, and CPAs may represent taxpayers before the IRS. It is one of the few designations that signifies a concentration of competency in the field of taxation.   

I am a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor, trained, tested, and recognized by Intuit as someone who can provide technical and accounting assistance to QuickBooks clients. Additionally, I have used many different accounting software programs throughout my career.   

Efficiency and accurate data are my driving forces. Clear communication, problem solving, resourcefulness, organization, and big picture thinking are some of my strengths. I enjoy the challenge of identifying and solving problems, as well as staying current with the evolving nature of the tax code. I earned a BA at Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA at Johns Hopkins University.   

I am an active volunteer and enjoy all things health and fitness, including dancing, yoga, and biking. My favorite place is Chincoteague Island, Virginia, where I spend as much summertime as possible. I am most passionate about my family.
